Frequently Asked Questions

How can I help?

We’re always looking for volunteers to help sort and deliver hot lunches to classrooms on Wednesdays. It’s a quick and easy commitment—just 30 minutes from 11:15 AM to 11:45 AM—and it’s a great way to get a peek into your kiddo’s school day. You’ll get smiles, high-fives, and maybe even a little celebrity status in the hallway!

You can sign up for as many or as few weeks as you like.

To volunteer, please check the Volunteer Box in the Hot Lunch ordering system or email
torquay@hotlunches.net.

What if my child is absent on Fun Lunch day. Do I get a refund?

Planned absences: If you know in advance that your child will be away, you may cancel lunch items up to one week before the lunch date to receive a credit on your account.

Cancellations within one week: Unfortunately, cancellations and changes cannot be made within one week of the lunch date.

If your child is absent on the lunch date: We are unable to provide refunds for missed fun lunches. Please contact the school to let us know whether you would like to pick up the lunch, have it saved for the following day, or transfer it to another student.

How long is Fun Lunch ordering available?

What if I need more time to order due to finances?

We can offer an extension of the deadline up to one week prior to each Fun Lunch day for families that need extra time.

Contact us directly at torquay@hotlunches.net with your child's name and food request and we'll place your order in advance. You'll then have until one week after the deadline to complete payment. Note that once we have submitted the order it can no longer be edited after the deadline.
